石林是世界喀斯特地貌的精华。拥有世界上喀斯特地貌演化历史最久远、分布面积最广、类型齐全、形态独特的古生代岩溶地貌群落石林，被誉为 “天下第一奇观”。 石林风光汇集奇石、瀑布、湖泊、溶洞等自然风光，由大小石林、乃古石林、芝云洞、奇风洞、长湖、月湖、大叠水、圭山森林公园八个风景游览区组成，素有“造型地貌天然博物馆”之称。

Shilin is the essence of world karst landforms. It boasts Paleozoic karst landform clusters in the world with the longest karst landform evolution history, the largest distribution area, the most complete types and unique forms, so it is acknowledged as the “the peerless wonder in the world”. Shilin owns natural scenery including rare stones, waterfalls, lakes, karst caves, etc. It is comprised of 8 scenic spots including small and large stone forests, Naigu Stone Forests, ZhiyunCave,QifengCave,ChanghuLake,MoonLake,Grand Falls, Guishan Forest Park, so it is reputed as “the Natural Museum of Sculpts and Landforms”.

Cultural Resources

Shilin is the hometown of Ashima of China. The Yi Ethnic Group culture represented by Ashima has profound connotation and impact. The most influential ones are: 

“One poem”: the narrative poem Ashima

“One film”: “Sweetheart”, the first color music film ofChina

“One song”: “Please Stay, Guests from Afar”, the representative song ofYunnantourism

“One dance”: Yi Ethnic Group Sani large Sanxian Dance

“One festival”: annual Yi Ethnic Group’s Torch Festival is known as “the oriental carnival”

“One embroidery”: Ashima embroidery was awarded with the “gold award in China International Technology Product Exhibition”.

矿产资源

石林县矿产资源丰富，截至2007年底，已发现的矿产资源有煤、地热、铜、铁、铅、锌、大理岩等23种矿种。

石林县是昆明市主要煤焦生产基地县，是云南省煤炭发展重点县之一，煤矿资源储量较大，全县煤矿资源储量为5875.95万吨。以圭山煤矿带为主，煤质较好，低硫、磷，低灰分，高发热量。

大理岩矿不但储量极为丰富，而且品种多样，质量良好。有白海棠、石林米黄、石林灰、银滩、青花、青彩、樱桃红、虎斑、黑玉、彩黛、枫叶红等11个品种，其中白海棠和石林米黄大理岩被授予全国“优质名特石材”称号。

Mineral Resources

Shilin County has rich mineral resources and by the end of 2007, 23 minerals had been discovered including coal, geothermy, copper, iron, lead, zinc, marble and so on.

Shilin Countyis the main coal coke production base ofKunmingas well as one of the key counties ofYunnanProvincefor coal development, with high reserve of coal resources of 58.7595 million tons. Focused on Guishan coal mine belt, the coal produced is high in quality with low content of sulfur and phosphorus and high heat production.

The marble mine is not only rich in reserve, but also diversified in types and good in quality, including 11 types namely white crabapple, Shilin Bptticino, Shilin grey, silver beach, blue-and-white, blue-and-color, cherry red, tiger brindle, mountain jet, Colored black, maple leaf red, of which white crabapple, and Shilin Bptticino are awarded with the title of national “high-quality and rare stone”.
