石林彝族自治县位于昆明市东南部，距昆明主城78公里，国土面积1719平方公里，辖6镇1乡，92个村（居）民委员会，常住人口24.60万人，少数民族占34%。1956年成立路南彝族自治县，1998年更名为石林彝族自治县。2010年全县实现地区生产总值36.8亿元，全社会固定资产投资43.29亿元，社会消费品零售总额15.18亿元，地方财政一般预算收入3.51亿元，农民人均纯收入5704元，城镇居民人均可支配收入17883元。
Shilin Yi Nationality Autonomous County is located on the southeast ofKunmingCity,78kmaway from the main urban area ofKunming. With the area of1,719km2, the County has jurisdiction over six towns, one township and 92 villagers’ (neighborhood) committees. It has the permanent population of 246,000, of which minority ethnic groups account for 34%. Lunan Yi Nationality Autonomous County was set in 1956 and renamed Shilin Yi Nationality Autonomous County in 1998. The GDP of the county in 2010 was RMB 3.68 billion, the social fixed assets investment was RMB 4.329 billion, the social consumer products retail volume was RMB 1.518 billion, general budgetary income of local finance was RMB 351 million, net per capita income of farmers was RMB 5,704 and urban per capita disposable income was RMB 17,883.
